Fiona Apple Day!

Tonight I am off to see Fiona Apple play in Portland, ME. I am so excited, as I will be going with a group of friends that I don’t see often enough, and because Fiona releases new music so rarely.

I am packing up what has become my “concert purse”, which is one that can be worn tightly around my body, and that can hold a shocking amount of stuff inside for its small size. I haven’t decided yet about my camera.

I think it might be telling that in addition to my ID and debit card, the only other card I opted to bring is my Starbucks card. You know, just in case.

  I was actually thinking about that at the concert. About how little occasional adventures like this make me a more fulfilled person, and therefore a better Mom because I am role-modeling the importance of having interests and living life. At least, that’s what I hope.
