Giveaway! Win a Copy of CopyKids!

July 13, 2012

Back in March, I entered a giveaway at another blog, and I won a copy of a DVD called “Copy Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables” which is designed to encourage kids to eat healthy fruits and veggies by showing them segments of other kids enjoying these things. I wrote about our first, and very successful, experience with the product here.

Since then, we have enjoyed the DVD so much, that I contacted the company and asked if they would be kind enough to help me pass on my enjoyment with my own giveaway of their product. They said they would be delighted! Here is a summary of the DVD from the Copy Kids website:

“A joy-filled video and an innovative tool for parents who want to get children to enjoy eating fruits and vegetables.

Copy-Kids is a media company producing video that encourages positive habits in young children, by watching and copying other kids. Copy-Kids unique content — DVD, online and TV — helps parents get their children hooked on healthy and positive habits...

The DVD features 12 x 7 minute chapters, one for each of twelve fruits & veggies:

bell pepper // bananas // oranges
carrots // strawberries // avocado
raspberries // tomatoes // apples
broccoli // cucumber // blueberries

Each chapter features several adorable and entertaining children aged 9 months to 4 years, eating with joy and delight. It’s a simple but revolutionary tool for parents who want their kids to develop a life-long habit of healthy eating. The DVD includes an on-camera discussion about healthy eating with renowned pediatrician Dr. Jay Gordon, plus a section of delightful outtakes.”

In order to prepare for today’s giveaway, I decided to photograph Simon watching the DVD again. This time, I gave him almost an entire Bell Pepper, of which I has used only a little for a recipe. I put the pepper out on a plate, popped on the DVD segment dedicated to bell peppers, and sat back to watch. I avoided interfering or suggesting in any way that Simon eat the pepper. In fact, the only time I spoke was when he asked a few questions about the “babies” on the TV. As a parent, I enjoy watching the quirky behaviors of the kids, and the funny ways they move and talk, just as much as Simon does.

As he watched, Simon was mesmerized. He stared at the kids munching away for a few moments, and then slowly, absentmindedly, picked up the pepper. After a few more moments, he started licking it…and then took a great big bite. He smiled, pointed at one of the kids on the TV, and with his mouth full of pepper told me: “Baby laughing.”. We watched several more segments (at his request), and throughout the whole time he continued munching away on his veggie snack. Even after all this time, the effect of the video has not lost its charm for him.

So, if you would like to win your very own copy of “Copy Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables”, please leave a comment here on this post. If you share this post on facebook, pinterest, twitter, or any other social networking sites you belong to, leave a second, separate comment letting me know where and how you shared it, and I will enter you a second time. That is twice the chance! I will close the comments and draw a winner via random number generator on Monday, when I return from my trip. Copy Kids will mail the DVD directly to the winner.

Happy weekend and good luck!

Oh this needs to find it’s way to our house. I have 3 kids under 3, and 2 of which are not fans of veggie snacks. The other, his favorite is frozen broccoli! Hoping this helps out a little :) Thanks!

I love the idea behind this DVD. My son eats way better at daycare than at home, and I always wondered if it had something to do with wanting to be like the others. Hmmmm…
