About
Hello,
My name is Krista Lord and welcome to my blog about motherhood, art, and my daily life. I don’t intend this blog as a diary or personal journal, but rather a space to share little scattered moments and projects that might inspire or at least be relatable. Please feel free to leave me a comment or thought of your own.
Here are a few things about me:
Family: My husband Jeramy (yes, that is how you spell his name) and I have been together for over 13 years, and married for 4. We have a 1-year old son, Simon, who is the greatest joy of our life together. We still debate on whether or not to have more children. We share our home with two little kitties, Molly and Sam.
Maine: We live in central Maine. We love it here. Both Jeramy and I have lived here our whole lives, and though we often talk of running away to Ireland, we really do feel lucky to live in such a great state. We get to be close to the ocean and the forests, and to experience the extremes of the seasons. Our current home is not ideal, but we are learning to make the best of what we have until we can move into someplace better suited for us.
Work: Jeramy works full time, night shift, for a large company as a machinist. Working nights means that he requires time to sleep during the day, which is difficult, but we have adapted as a family. I work part time on the children’s floor of our local library. I have a lifelong love of Children’s Literature, so it is a happy place for me to be. I also have flexible hours which enables us not to require daycare. This year, I am also working on establishing an online shop for my art and crafts.
Hobbies: I love art. I have my college degree in art, with a minor in art history. I consider myself mostly a printmaker and a painter, though I also enjoy many other forms of creative expression. I am currently trying to make more time to fit art and creativity back into my daily life. I hope that I am role modeling my creative passion for my child.
If you wish to contact me with questions, concerns, sponsorship inquiries, or just to connect beyond leaving a comment, feel free to send me an email at klordart@gmail.com and I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

Thanks so much for stopping by One Acre Follies! Your comment was so good I think maybe I should print it and put it above the kitchen sink.
The one good thing is that I have recognized that I tend to do that and am trying to take steps to avoid that. How sad for my daughters to hate hospitality or holidays.
So glad my comment meant something to you.
I enjoyed visiting your blog. With so much out there pushing us all to be super moms, it is important to remember we are only human, no one can do it all, and a pre-made pie crust once in a while can save our sanity!
Hi, Krista…so happy that i can visit your blog and read some stories from you. I’m a mommy from Indonesia…salam kenal ya:)
Welcome, glad you like my blog!
How refreshing to see someone together so long and you didn’t get married right away. My son’s father and I have been together 7 years and we’re finally getting to the point where we started seriously talking about it. Lol! I always say some people are on the slow train to the fairy tale.
We definitely took that slow train, and I believe our marriage is better for it. We met in high school, so obviously we had a lot of growing and maturing left to do. We waited to marry until after college, when we could really be sure we were on the same life track. Nothing wrong with taking your time!
Hi Krista, Thanks so much for the comments you left on my blog. I wanted to let you know I mentioned you in a blog post!

Just wrote a reply at your blog, but THANK YOU!!! Sincerely. I am so glad you like my little blog!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Loved your potted Christmas tree idea!
I am glad you like the idea. If that doesn’t work, you could always rig up something Charlie Brown style.
Hello
I followed a link from family Mill, This is a lovely blog, your observational pictures of your little boy are so sweet, it’s an adorable age isn’t it. I know that feeling of pondering a second child. Took us 8 years to commit but so glad we did
on the other hand an only child is in a lot of ways the best of both worlds: parenting and some life too lol good luck x
It is a hard decision to make, and one we are taking our time with. So much change happening right now to focus on in the meantime.
Welcome to my little space!
